I finished the Marathon in 04:08:43, which Im chuffed with considering the amount of pain I was in at 25 miles, but that was nothing in comparison to the pain I feel today walking up and down stairs. Im also left wondering how much my head and neck were involved cause they are not in a good way either. Windge over. I cant begin to tell you how blessed I feel to have the friends and family that I do. Ben, Beth and Flamehead gave up their bank holiday weekend to accompany me to Chester. I had a day of work and reading planned, they decided, Little Britain, pie and chips, near death experience, football, registration, pizza and pudding, pub, stories, more pubs, brew and bed, would be better and they were right. If they hadnt I wouldnt have given much thought to the topics we had decided to debate. So thanx x Simon brought the Reynolds-Bright's, Nige learnt to contort his body into a paper swan so he could fit into Si's car. Then when he got to Chester he was amazed at how good everything was, and told us the story of a pencil, if archaeologists were to look under our laminate flooring in years to come they would clearly see that a pencil had infact once been inbedded into the underlay, nib and all. October 11 1978. I was born at 28 weeks. If I would have gone full term I'd have been a right little podge, because even at 10 weeks premature I tipped the scales at 4lb, which was lucky for me because babies born weighing less are more at risk from serious disabilities. I was kept in an incubator for months and my parents told that I would most likley suffer with menatal as well as physical disabilities. Again lucky for me, the hospital had the essential equipment needed to give me the best chance of a higher quality of life than what was expected at the time. I was going to run the Chester Marathon this year anyway when I noticed a friend of mine was having a crappy time (to put it mildly). I'm not great at saying the right things to people when they need it, infact I'm excellent at doing just the opposite, so when I noticed Aimee had set up a Precious Star Fund, I thought getting sponsors for the marathon was the least I could do. I have been inspired by Aimee's attitude, after everything shes been through, she chose to do something positive, she chose her attitude and to be honest thats the kind of person I aspire to be.

Ok so the lactic acid is gone, the blisters are no longer sore although they are not pretty and the friction burns are drying out nicley. last long run was a disaster, although Im told it was to far to close anyway, and what i actually did achieve was more productive, and was what I now know is called a detox run. Still a bit dissapointed but im told its all in my head. Now there is the depleation diet debate, shall i? well initail weight loss, sounds good, then "bollock the carbs" (defo my fave saying this week) also sounds pretty good. As much treakle pudding as i can manage, yes please I'll have some of that. Custard or ice cream? erm thats a toughie, i have 2 portions, one of each, thank you. Day one of the shakey tin has been most sucsessfull, I didn't realise how scared people can be of donating online. Dear Diary, It would seem this marathon is turning into quite a project. Hotel rooms booked, banners being made, coach parties organised and new running kit donated. I honestly believe I have the most amazing friends and family (dont worry I aint about to get all soppy on you). Cheers, thanx a million, nice one, ta, thats very generous thank you...and so on, i am struggling of finding different ways of sending thank yous. As with most events I take part in, Im gonna (if i havent already) bore you to death with the Chester Marathon. So you can sponsor me to finish the race, run it in a sub 4 time or to shut my mouth about it. I dont care just donate. Some of you may also know, I have been living in crack den conditions once again for the last few months, so when things return to normal there shall be a relaunch party at the Reynolds-Bright abode and anyone dontating will be more than welcome. Im kinda hoping this will tie in with race day. If not fuck it non of you can use the batrhroom cause you may end up in the kitchen, but dont worry I live in bushbury we have an out side lav.
